CDP's browsing ability almost makes hypertext of any collection
of ASCII files. To illustrate, here is how to find out all about the CDP
command line if you have CDP's .CDP files in this directory. It's SO easy!!
type CDP (if using CDPSW, do SPACE BAR, SPACE BAR, & then ctrl-Q)
(CDP is now resident. Run your editor & perform these commands in it
if you wish. You can perform them while you are in a popular disk
manager or search program or even running CHKDSK. CDP doesn't care!!)
type rshift-rshift (RIGHT-hand shift key tapped twice swiftly (1/2 sec.))
type ctrl-T ('Text' to find)
type CDP COMMAND LINE(string you will be searching for, no leading spaces)
(no quote marks, in upper or lower case)
type alt-G ('Go' in Find menu, which you are in)
type A or a ('All' files on the screen (a response))
type N or n ('No' don't stop for verification (a response))
(CDP will mark all the files with "CDP COMMAND LINE" in them.)
type alt-V ('View' results -- ctrl-V does a plain view)
type alt-N ('Next' Marked File)
type f or F ('Find' the string -- see 1st match in context)
You can browse around very well with just the above commands. Or you
can use the simple menus if you wish. But there is much, much more. F1 offers
generous help at any time on exactly whatever you are currently doing. F2
shows navigational keys. F3 shows many of the Hot Keys. SMALLMAN.CDP is the
manual (w/ CDPSW differences) for the impatient. BIGMAN.CDP is full manual.
